Implementation of the Rio de Janeiro Petrochemical Complex

Description of the services actually performed by the team for the project:

• Earthworks project for the ring road, internal corridors, intersection and access to the pole area, totaling 30.7 km;

• Geotechnical project for the contour dikes (16.5 km), Sangue rivers (5.4 km), Lavapés (0.7 km), Itaguaí (2.2 km) and Guarda (7.3 km);

• Geotechnical and earthwork design of the hydraulic (14.0 million m3) and mechanical (1.4 million m3) landfill, as well as the area stabilization project consisting of the execution of 30 cm (2.2 cm) vertical sand drains million m);

• Macrodrainage and microdrainage project, consisting of widening the channel of the Guarda River (7.3km), relocation of the Sangue River (5.4km), systematization of the Lavapés (0.7km) and Itaguaí (2.2km) rivers km) and drainage of industrial lots with a network of channels (21.5 km), totaling 37.1 km;

• Geometric design of the ring road (14.0 km), internal corridors (13.0 km), road accesses (1.4 km) and intersections with the region’s road network (2.1 km), totaling 30.5 km;

• Geological-geotechnical investigations for knowledge of the project area, through percussion drilling (2,000 m), vane-test tests (40), removal of shelbies samples (47), characterization tests (39) and densification (47), as well as for research of terrestrial (11.45 million m3), submerged marine (280 million m3) and sandy deposits (5 million m3);

• Topographic surveys through electronic polygonal execution (25 km), exploration axis staking (24 km), electronic irradiation (4.0 km), elevation transport (8.0 km), leveling and counter-levelling (24.0 km ), cross-section survey (275 km), planialtimetric cadastre (47 ha), stadimetric polygonal (5 km) and concrete landmarks (50);

• Preliminary environmental assessment that made it possible to minimize the impacts of infrastructure works on the physical, biotic and socio-economic cultural environments;

• Public debates with the community and public hearing scheduled by IBAMA, held at the Municipality of Itaguaí on 03/04/1991, referring to Phase 1 of the Environmental Licensing process of the Petrochemical Complex of Rio de Janeiro, corresponding to the Implementation License (LI) of basic infrastructure works.
